And to pull it breaks open frozen caverns below

It’s like the negative space -
When you take it away
And there’s another whole picture that the new light betrays.
They say “pick one and paint over all the mess that we’ve made”
As if we couldn’t smell shit if we can’t see the stain.
And I don’t believe the world would be a terrible place
If they dignified us with a liveable baseline.
I’ve felt something like peace seeing sun in your face,
I believe in good feelings hurt will never replace.
And I’d like to claim part of you will always be mine
But I know it’s just words, it’s only moments in time
I want a life without fear and the good earth to thrive,
I’m walking forward, hands open, with a new world in mind
It’s like the negative space -

The backing tracks on this album have seen serious improvement since Hatchie's debut, and the tracks have more variety. I'm not sure if there's been much improvement on the vocals, but overall this is a better (and longer!) showing from this artist.

Brilliant record. I don’t usually listen to this style of music, but the album gripped me. It was intriguing while remaining accessible and heart-felt. Art as Cathasis really shares some amazing artists!
