a thousand flowers grow beneath the pomegranate tree -
take their fallen petals when I sleep and cover me.
I was never lonely with my forehead steeped in dreams
and here I’ll liquefy till angels pour me out in streams.
a thousand volts that burnt the hand of Hypersephone
when she plucked the flower whose roots grew out of Hades dreams shoot out from her open eyes, her mouth red, ripe with screams
and you’re the sound she made, and you’re the seed.
a thousand lights that illumine two worlds, twin halves of me
glowing from behind your ribs peer through the rungs in beams.
myopic when I foundered then, but I worked hard to see
and I’ll take in the sight until I have all that I need.

This album throws you into another world. A world of dreamy imagery, deep feelings, interesting narratives, beautiful compositions and a sense of adventure. I've been following Happy Axe from the start and this album is her realization of all that has happened before. A breath taking collection of songs. I hope this album opens up audiences and opportunities far and wide across Australia and the world. Paul Summerfield

I believe the last track was released as a single, and I remember listening to it while I had a terrible flu. It blew me away into a fever dream... in a good way? It was quite a somatic experience. I adore this album and recall the show at Knockdown Center a few years ago fondly. AD
